Tommi have tought a long time of getting a hound dog, so the huntingseason would be a bit longer. Birdhuntingseason is quite a short in Finland. We found out information of many breeds and finally drever seemed to be a very good choise. We went to see drevers to kennel Drevmarkens and they impressed by behaving very peacefully.  We have made booking for a male-puppy, but then we started to wonder how it would go with two male of same age in the hause, when also Hugo was a young boy then. 

Then we saw a photo of Hejja on the breeders webpages and we liked her a lot. We started to ask about her from her breeder, but Hejja was not for sale. Olli anyway promised to think about it and we also visited to see her. Finally when Hejja was four months old, we got a permission to get her, and her training was stated right away.

Hejja started to hound well at the age of 1,5 years. If  there is rabbits in the area, Hejja surely hounds. In the end of 2004 we found some new features of Hejja, she started to get interested of foxs and finally hounded them several hours. Nowadays it doesnt matter is it a fox or a rabbit, Hejja surely hounds. She have been interested in couple of raccoon dogs also and been in very close contact with them too..

Hejjas hound-bark can be heard several times during the week in neighbourhoods forests.

When Hejja was younger, she was a bit shy, but nowadays she goes to see all visitors without any hesitating. She is just a perfect family dog as well as huntingdog! Hejja is very easy and peaceful at home and also very social with our other dogs. She can run free in our garden and dont run off without permission. Hejja loves to sleep in the bed, it is the best to sleep beside pillows after a long day in the forest.

Hejja likes to play with Hugo and Jessica. Maybe she have learned from spaniels that when we blow to the whistle, she comes right away to us! She can also retrieve and swim well, so mabye spaniels are really affecting to her.
